The Endo Project
In 2015 I was invited to participate in a portrait project called Note to Self. I was to submit a childhood photo and a note to my younger self, and photographer Angela Dukát took my portrait for the project. That note was a lot harder to write that I had anticipated.
Looking back on my life, I realized how endometriosis had been such a big part of it, while most of the time I didn't even know what I had. There was always this one constant... my very painful periods. They dictated what I could or couldn't do since I was 11 years old.
Endometriosis affects 10% of reproductive-aged women (176 million women worldwide), it's often misdiagnosed and women usually wait years and see many doctors until a correct diagnosis is made.
The Endo Project's goal is to connect women with Endometriosis, share our stories, and support those going through the same struggle. We hope to inspire, help and create awareness about this disease.
If you know someone dealing with endometriosis, please share this with them. Share with your family and friends, we might reach someone who doesn't know yet that the pain she has is caused by endo.
