Connecting Beyond the Lens
Last month, I opened my Oakville studio doors for the 3rd edition of our International Women’s Day photoshoot. What started in 2024 as a way for me to practice photographing large groups has become a wonderful tradition celebrating women. This year felt particularly special. Since joining the Burlington Chamber of Commerce and deepening my roots with the Oakville Chamber, my circle of "work sisters" has expanded in the best way possible.
As entrepreneurs, we are often the face, the CEO, the accountant, the digital content creator and the assistant of our brands. We spend so much time behind the scenes that we forget to step into the spotlight.
This photoshoot wasn’t just about getting a new portrait. It was about feeling confident, meeting new people, and starting not only new business connections but friendships, too.
While we may run different types of businesses, our ambitions and challenges are so similar.
To the incredible businesswomen from Oakville, Burlington, and beyond who joined me this year: Thank you for your energy and your trust. You didn't just show up for a photo; you showed up for each other.
Meet the wonderful participants this year - from left to right.
Many thanks to Enjoy the Party for the beautiful food and decorations, and to Grind & Graft for the drink’s name tags. They are always a hit!
